Alpha Sigma Alpha

Founded at Farmville, Virginia
November 15, 1901

Gamma Gamma Chapter of Alpha Sigma Alpha began its life in the early days of Northwestern State Teachers College, as the Sorosis Club. The club was chartered as a Greek Letter Organization on February 22nd, 1916. Since its beginning the sorority has sought to inspire the highest in the members in all fields of endeavor, both in college and out. Alpha Sigma Alpha ranks high in scholarship and in the engaging personality of its members. Its members are also active in many other campus organizations tending to braoden the viewpoint and develop students for post-college life.

There are at present 18 members. The active members are Wilma Greer, Ethel Green, Vevian Chew, Ruth Riecker, Jadeena Leeper, Lenora Belknap, Ramona Baker, Louise Ewalt, Margery Mote and Katherine Lowther. Pledges are Lodena Ellison, Erl Lene Cline, Iola Ricks, Phyllis Card, Nancy Beth Galyen, Everette <aroe Fulmer, Vada Paris and Betty Lou Heaten.
