The English Department...
Three
fold was the aim of the English Department.
Perhaps first was the purpose to foster an appreciation of the
principles of truth fundamental to true literature, this in turn equipted the student with thoughts and aids him in
acquiring the ability to express himself clearly,
effectively and correctly. Finally the teaching of specific ideas and skills which would
enable the English Teacher to be of real practical value and appreciated as
such.
