The Sophomore Class started in the fall term with lots of "pep"
and in every way proved themselves the equal of any class in school.
One of the interesting events of the winter term was the contest between
the Sophomore and Freshmen Classes to decide the right of the Freshmen
to wear insignia. Another was the reception given by the Sophomores in
honor of the victorious Rangers, three of whom are Sophomores.
This year the class is to be honored by beginning a new custom at Northwestern,
which is that each year the Sophomore Class is to write a play and put
it on in chapel during the spring term.
The glee club organized at the spring term is progressing and soon expects
to make their first appearance in public.
We hope that the Sophomores of '18 will be as enthusiastic a class as
the one of '17.
