Junior Class HistorySummary of Juniors...
The one class in Alva High School which always has been very outstanding and prominent in school spirit and accomplishments is the Senior class of 1921. As Freshmen, we spent our first semester of High School in the City Hall. Although green, we were not slow in adapting ourselves to high school life. We had many struggles, but in the end, by the guidance of our class sponsors, Miss McDaniels, Miss Painter and Mr. May, we marched victoriously into our Sophomore year. This year, as Mr. May had been called to colors, we chose Mr. Webb to take his place as sponsor. As in our Freshman days, we were the most energetic and promising class in AHS. During this year new laurels were added to our record. Our boys carried away the championship on the inter-class basketball tournament and one of our boys won most of the honors in the annual track meet. When we met again we, as Juniors, found that Cupid had captured one of our sponsors, Miss Painter. We were all sorry to lose her but Miss Hutchins has ably taken her place. Now as Juniors we are still the most firmly united class in AHS. Our president is the best booster in school and every one of the Juniors is right with him. The most prominent members of the Debating clubs, Dramatic Club, Glee Clubs, and girls' and boys' Baskertball teams you will find to be Juniors. We are publishing the Annual this year and as this year is a hard task, we have selected the very best workers to perform it. Work is not all we do; we have had some excellent parties, picnics and kodaking trips. We are proud of our career, but we are going to keep on improving and hope to graduate as the very best class that has ever gone through Alva High School. We are certain we can do this with the assistance of our resourceful sponsors, Miss McDaniels, Miss Hutchins and Mr. Webb. 1920 Pow-Wow Yearbook - NW OkieLegacy Webshots Senior Class History, Prophecy &
